Technical Developer – Awning Development (M/F/D)

Westfield Outdoor GmbH is the European branch of the HengFeng Group (China) and is one of the leading providers of outdoor and leisure furniture. Our portfolio includes innovative products for camping, caravanning, as well as garden and leisure design. An important segment here is the development and production of high-quality awning systems (e.g. awnings, canopies, sun protection solutions), which impress with functionality, quality and modern design.

To strengthen our technical team, we are looking for a dedicated Technical Developer (m/f/d) for the development of new awning products and the optimization of existing solutions.

• Development of innovative awning systems from the idea to series production
• Creation of technical drawings and 3D models (e.g. with CAD software)
• Selection of suitable materials taking into account weight, stability and weather resistance
• Execution of functional and load tests on prototypes
• Analysis of technical challenges and implementation of improvements to existing products
• Collaboration with product management, purchasing, production and external suppliers
• Creation of technical documentation, specifications and test documents
• Support with certifications and compliance with relevant standards (e.g. TÜV, EN standards)
• Observation of market trends and new technologies in the field of awning and outdoor products

• Completed technical studies (e.g. mechanical engineering, product development, construction technology) or a comparable education
• Several years of professional experience in product development, ideally in the field of awning, tent or outdoor products
• Very good knowledge of CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Technical understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and mechanical constructions
• Structured, solution-oriented and independent way of working
• Communication and teamwork skills
• Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
