Product Manager (M/F/D)

Westfield Outdoors GmbH is the German branch of the Chinese parent company HengFeng and is responsible for activities in the European market. As a world leader in outdoor and leisure furniture, we develop, produce and sell innovative outdoor products specifically for the European market. Our customers are wholesalers and retailers in the B2B segment. Our focus is on high-quality, functional solutions for camping, caravanning, as well as garden and leisure furniture.

To strengthen our design & product team, we are looking for a dedicated Product Manager (m/f/d).

Your tasks:

General management and communication of all new product development initiatives:

  • Collaboration with the Category Sales Managers to integrate new initiatives into the development and production pipeline.
  • Ensuring that all developments comply with production capacities and constraints and are consistent with planned launch dates for customers and consumers.
  • Coordination of all new product development (NPD) initiatives and ODM projects for external partners
  • Collaboration with Category Sales Managers to bring new product ideas into the development and production pipeline

Optimization of the development process to achieve commercial goals:

  • Support of portfolio optimization initiatives in coordination with the Sales Managers.
  • Management and reporting of NPD KPIs to ensure program delivery according to available resources and support where required.

Product positioning, market analysis and competitive monitoring:

  • Conducting competitive analysis, market research and monitoring industry sales channels and trends.
  • Collaboration with the Product Development Team (PD) to ensure that products align with strategic plans.
  • Commercial launch of products in close collaboration with the European sales team to strategically position products for customers, partners and market influencers.
  • Monitoring industry trends and distribution channels to derive new product ideas
  • Development of concepts and strategic recommendations for new product areas

Further responsibilities:

  • Identification of new product opportunities based on market, financial and competitive analyses.
  • Participation in industry trade shows, competitive analysis and analysis of sales channels to derive actionable proposals.
  • Development of new product concepts based on the company’s product roadmap.
  • Creation of product briefings and monitoring the development of unique selling propositions (USPs) and key messages.
  • Support of product portfolio management, including product development and price positioning.
  • Regular training for the sales team on new product features and messages.

Your profile:

  • University degree in product management, engineering or industrial design with a focus on marketing.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a brand-driven consumer goods company with specific experience in new product development.
  • Sound knowledge in a relevant product area, especially regarding material properties and production processes.
  • Ability to identify technological and product trends and recommend relevant solutions for development.
  • Experience in working with design and engineering teams.
  • Consumer-oriented mindset with the ability to incorporate insights into decision-making processes.
  • Strong strategic and tactical planning skills, supported by analytical competence.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and project management skills.
  • Structured problem-solving skills and results-oriented working style.
  • Business fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
